Dignity in Dying’s campaign to change the law on assisted dying for terminally ill, mentally competent adults benefits from overwhelming public support.

However, if we are to change the law we need to demonstrate this support to decision makers in Parliament, the medical community and the media. We face an extremely vocal, well-funded minority opposition who were able to inundate Parliament with correspondence the last time the Assisted Dying Bill was before it – helping to defeat it.

The next time we bring a Bill before Parliament, we need to ensure our supporters are louder than our opponents and that decision makers are aware of the full extent of support for a change in the law.

You can demonstrate your support by writing to your MP and asking for their views, writing and speaking to the media – particularly to challenge negative articles and if you’re able to, you can support us financially by becoming a member or donating.
