Final Choice

For some of us, this decision, not our's to take

It's the medical profession, one they will make

The oath that is sworn, life at whatever, the cost

The end of the day, it's our dignity, they have lost

There are times, it's taken out of their hands

Some say our road is fate, others celestial plans

I know from experience,  and all that Iv'e seen

So many who are effected, their life to demean

When you tread life's path, with a love one distressed

What you get told, with your heads they have messed

Questions galore erupt, from the depth of your mind

What you want, is answers, it's not answers, you find

Like climbing a vertical wall, nails stretching for a hold

Taking life, day by day, thoughts in your mind that are bold

Never let negative even exist, it's not a word you can use

In these hard, difficult times, it's always life that you choose

Seems whatever they throw, how difficult, it is to catch

Inner strength, that powerful throw, just find a way to match

Something beyond, the source of life, not to loose your grip

Anything they, or you can do, for life in your favour, to tip

For most who go through this, a time to reflect

Love one, your partner, please try not to reject

The pain that they suffer, both yours and their own

A future without you, yes empty, a future unknown

In fact the base of this subject, as difficult, as it may be

When you leave your body, it's you, that is set free

For those that are left behind, a time to catch a breath

Pain & tears, the grieving, for a love one & their death

I guess what I am saying, our final choice should hold respect

A choice made from knowledge, within the law and checked

A final decision that covers all, allowing informed choice

My hope is, those that can, will listen, to the peoples voice
