Research

This section summarises key research from the UK, Oregon state, Washington state, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Research on assisted dying demonstrates that:

both voluntary and non-voluntary euthanasia is being practiced in the UK;
the British public overwhelmingly supports assisted dying;
and where assisted dying is legal practice numbers have remained low, vulnerable groups have not been targeted or negatively impacted, and palliative care improves and is delivered to a high standard.
